Employee and Staff Assistance Programs Service Provision:
The VOSS psychology team, led by Dianne Perrett-Abrahams, is immediately in place, and consists of fully registered and highly reputable psychologists. All psychologists are members of the Australian Psychological Society. All clinical/counseling staff have had extensive experience in dealing with work issues and non work issues including personal crisis, marriage/relationship/family, financial, Drug and alcohol and gambling problems, trauma and critical incident treatment intervention. Our clinicians are completely experienced with the intrinsic problems related to employees in the work place and related difficulties such as job security, morale, work stress, bullying/harassment and employee relations.
VOSS provides psychological intervention, trauma debriefing and counseling on a 24-hour service basis to client companies and their families on an as needs basis. All VOSS psychologists have a sound understanding of each employee culture and problems endemic to each organisation under contract.
VOSS provides mediation services to employees, supervisors and management.
Manager/supervisor training regarding disciplinary procedures is available upon request.
VOSS has access to the expertise of consultant psychiatrists, who provide VOSS patients with specialist care. VOSS clients have access to inpatient care at several hospitals.
Group seminars and educational training in stress management, assertiveness, self esteem, drug and alcohol dependency, management and rehabilitation are provided by request.
Individual counseling and consultative sessions include, trauma debriefing and follow up counseling, marital/relationship, family, relationship, alcohol and drug, workplace and supervisory issues, vocational problems, crisis management and debriefing. VOSS psychologists provide expertise in the provision of the most up to date treatment modality for trauma and crisis intervention; to this end VOSS has a proven history having provided critical incident care and follow up after the Russell Street bombing, Clifton Hill siege and the Queen Street massacre.
VOSS has the unique experience of having researched and implemented the first and original Victoria Police Association’s employee assistance program (EAP), which was the first police EAP in Australia. VOSS has had over 29 years experience in providing such programs across the state of Victoria.
VOSS has consistently provided extended counseling consultations for EMPLOYEES and their families. VOSS commits to providing up to 25 counseling and clinical EAP consultations for each individual.
VOSS provides statistics on client consultation usage on a quarterly, half yearly, or yearly basis or as required by the client organisation. VOSS provides regular customer satisfaction feedback via the utilisation of anonymous evidence based questionnaires, and the analysis of client usage statistics.
Training educationals are offered to the client organisation and include Introduction to the usage of the EAP. In addition Supervisor Training, Drug & Alcohol in the Workplace educationals, Stress Management and Organisational Change Management programs.
Surveys conducted to assess the effectiveness of programs, indicate: –
*All respondents found the staff assistance program to be beneficial.
*94% of respondents felt they had better coping skills as a result ofusing the program
*All respondents would use the service again should the need arise.
*79% of all respondents contacted the staff assistance program because it offered a confidential service.
*83% of all respondents had what they perceived as an on going problem.
*48% of all respondents had a crisis situation when they contacted the staff assistance program.
The Director of VOSS, Dianne Perrett-Abrahams has been responsible for the provision of Employee Assistance Services to:- The Country Fire Authority (CFA) for Victorian employees, Cadbury-Schweppes, The Blind Institute, Prahran City Council, Frankston City Council, South Melbourne City Council, City Wide, National Bank, ANZ, Carlton & United Breweries, The Victorian Police Association, Legal Aid Commission, Melcan Industries, Symex Industries.
